Palladium Perfection - Porsche Macan S

Powertrain-wise, a turbocharged 2.9 litre diesel engine producing 258hp and launching from 0-60mph in 6.3 seconds gives you plenty of oomph to get past most vehicles on the road. It’s a truly capable machine.

But importantly, the Macan makes an impression even the most exciting SUVs fail to produce. Few brands fully appreciate the driving that most of us do; having to negotiate bad drivers, stop-start traffic, poor roads…it is something every driver has to deal with, particularly in the UK.

And the Macan is set up to address this in its own refined, competent, well-built way. It is probably the best handling of all the small SUVs, yet it delivers comfort, technical competence, and efficiency by the bucketload. It is, quite possibly, the only car you’ll ever need.
