Ford Mustang GT 5.0L V8 Fastback 2016

After decades of admiring the Mustang from afar, in 2016 English car-lovers and petrol heads no longer had to appreciate and covet the brawny performance and radical levels of cool, the Ford heritage-drenched muscle car that is the Ford Mustang finally made the trip across the Atlantic to become available within the United Kingdom. It came with an appropriately turned suspension, the back of the ever-reliable Ford and more importantly, the steering wheel where it should be. Of course, the new Mustang is not merely trading on a legendary image and the company's past reticence to make it right-hand drive. It also stacks up paper as a genuine performance bargain irrespective of badge.

It really does look a million dollars, especially in premium metallic Shadow black with high-gloss black 19 Inch wheels. The rear lights surrounded by embossed black, are particularly menacing. As is the GT branding, since there's not a single Ford badge on the car's body. The Pony projector lights the splash onto the pavement at night from projectors under the rear-view mirror are pure drama.

Under the bonnet of this beast is an aluminum 5.0-litre V8 engine, upgraded over the old car with a range of updates to make it breathe better, including larger intake and exhaust valves and camshafts. There are also stiffer valve springs, a new cylinder head casting and a rebalanced crankshaft. The result is 306kW of power at 6500rpm and 530Nm of torque at 4250rpm, which is good for a naturally aspirated V8with a 4951cc displacement. That graph tells you that this a free-revving and easy-breathing V8 engine. You'll also nail a 0-62mph sprint in around 4.8 seconds. That's a lot of car, and it comes with a lot of power: 415BHP. In comparative terms for valuation purposes, a Jaguar F-Type R with a V8 engine costs in the region of £86,000, yet a Ford Mustang GT 5.0L V8 costs a minor £36,000 in comparison. Where V8 really comes into its own is the timeless, filthy eight-cylinder soundtrack. Most of the time they're soft but menacing reverberations. Nail it and that promising potential explodes into a deliciously linear acceleration and a life-affirming, very mechanical roar that, by 6500rpm, must be audible from the surface of the moon. The GT is a hugely charismatic, deeply pleasing performance car with an uncomplicated likeability that eclipses almost everything at its price point that you will yearn to own.

At Harvey Cooper Cars this week, we became privileged to stock a 2016 Ford Mustang GT 5.0L V8 Fastback ourselves, we introduce the vehicle's additional features with the finish of a premium metallic paint in Shadow black, which is offered with the instantaneous dynamism to the interior which is full dark brown Saddle leather interior; a proper American muscle car feel. Further to the finish, the car was blessed with a Shaker unit and a reversing camera to alleviate all worries about maneuvering this machine around the inevitably busy local supermarket carpark on a Saturday morning. Just when you thought the sound of the factory-fitted exhaust was enough, this vehicle has been befitted with a Remus Performance Exhaust system to customise and increase the reverberations of that 5.0L V8 even further. Offering a different touch to the atypical-expected manual transmission is the optional automatic gearbox for those that prefer the comfort of letting the engine do all the work for you. Lastly, to maintain the dark features through the vehicle is the privacy glass in the rear quarter windows and the gloss black front grille Mustang emblem to present a real 'Batmobile' effect for the vehicle. This scheme is upheld through the 19 Inch multi-spoke alloy wheels which are in high-gloss black which come with the Brembo brake calipers. Moving the Mustang into the 21st century has inevitably come with the introduction of modern technologies, FordSync3 comes with a touchscreen slap-bang in middle of the dashboard with Apple CarPlay functionality to transfer the comfortability of your iPhone to the Mustang. Other notable features are cruise control, automatic Bi-Xenon headlights and keyless entry and ignition.

Our Ford Mustang GT 5.0L V8 Fastback 2016 is the pinnacle of muscle cars and with this particular vehicle coming with the reassuring background of a full detailed and meticulous service history, our Mustang is still in incredibly immaculate condition and primed for its next owner.
