Driving with finesse: Our BMW X3 20d M Sport xDrive
_____________________________________________________
Brooklyn Grey is one of those colours that, when you’re flicking through the brochure, you wouldn’t necessarily gravitate towards. It can appear flat, dull, and boring, and, look, well, quite a lot like cement. But spot one parked at the roadside, or rolling down the motorway, and you can’t help but crane your beck in wild curiosity. In real life, Brooklyn Grey is refreshingly contemporary, accentuating the contours of our #BMWX3 #20dMSport perfectly. It is neither grey, nor silver, nor white, but a fusion of all three – the result is an ocean of complexity.
Anyway, that’s enough about the colour for now – but just let it be a reminder that one mustn’t make aesthetic assumptions before seeing or experiencing something with one’s own eyes. The vehicle in question – our BMW X3 20d M Sport xDrive offers everything a modern family needs. Plenty of easy-to-use tech, an approachable design language, and, most importantly, a charismatic driving experience.
We’re discussing BMW, after all. Its 2.0 litre 4-cylinder powertrain is, admittedly, not the fire-breathing experience one gets from the 30d (which we also have an example of in our inventory as of 26/07/2024), but, as with all BMWs, you don’t feel bereft. Exemplary engineering gives the driver a wonderfully responsive throttle, direct and precise steering, and simply superb body control. It is one of the most intuitive, friendly, and engaging small SUVs you can buy.
They’ve got the details so right as well. Gloss Black ‘Shadowline’ exterior trim complements the Brooklyn Grey paintwork perfectly. You feel as though the X3 belongs outside a modern, minimalist property, but it looks great wherever it goes. The proud gloss black kidney grille belongs to a lineage of attractive, menacing, svelte BMWs over the years; it gives the X3 a simultaneously ‘no nonsense’ yet welcoming attitude. Our example is fitted with glorious double-spoke 20-inch alloy wheels (part of the M Sport Pro Pack), along with M Sport brakes with red calipers, Black Sensatec leather, and sun protection glass.
The British do some brilliant SUVs – Land Rover is synonymous with grandeur, luxury, and go-anywhere ability, but the Germans certainly know what they’re doing as well. Unintimidating but ferociously competent, you’ll not be disappointed with the 20d M Sport xDrive.
Finished in Brooklyn Grey with a Black Sensatec perforated leather interior. Our BMW X3 xDrive 20d M Sport is offered in excellent condition and has covered 6,500 miles. The vehicle comes with the remainder of a manufacturer warranty until July 2026.
